Machu Picchu

Originally we planed the Inka Trail in Peru, but the tickets are strong limited and so we haven't been able to get them. (in middle of February they still have been available only for end of June). Who do not know, the Inka Trail is a four day trek on old Inka routes to Macho Picchu.
So we looked for an alternative and we found it. First we heard of it from other traveler in Buenos Aires which recommended us the Inka Jungle Trail. Not comparable with the real one but with the same target: Machu Picchu.
It is also a four day trip: First day biking, second and third day trekking, fourth day MP.
So the bus picked us up at 7:30am on the first day. After more than one hour we had all our group members and bikes on board and the tour started. First destination was the pass Abra Malaga on an attitude of 4350m. At this high it was already a little bit cold and rained strongly. Didn't matter we got dressed and started biking. In the beginning still a little bit careful that not everything got wet, but ten minutes latter water was already standing in my shoes. We went downhill four about three hours through rivers, which arise on the street, and it became warmer and warmer but raining remained. Finally we arrived at Santa Maria (on an attitude of 1250m) wet to the skin under the belt-line (thanks to my rain jacket, kept me dry!). In the evening we were busy to dry our equipment as much as possible. Somebody had also the great idea to put newspaper into the wet shoes. (Guess who was!) And so the locals made a great business and sold us their old newspapers. And really on the next day the shows were nearly dry. But the question how long appeared, because it was still raining. Everybody had different ideas to protect the feed some put a bag between shoes and socks other but the whole shoe in a bag:))
Happily one and a half hour after we started, raining became less and sun appeared. We had to walk over many hang slides and slowly we came into the jungle one part we walked on the real Inka Trail route. But soon other problems appeared because some city eggs confound the trekking tour with and sightseeing tour and so we always had to wait for them. After lunch the decided to finish the tour by shuttle and for the rest of the group the best part started. River crossing without bridge or by cable car, finding new routes through the forest because rain washed away the existing were the highlights. In the evening we met the rest of the group at hot springs where we took a bath. After this we walked again for about 40min till we arrived Santa Teresa, some of course took the shuttle again. In this village I also had the cheapest haircut ever had.
On the third first part of the day "zip lining" was on the time table. We got a belt, a helmet and gloves and walk up a mountain till we arrived the first cable. One by one fixed his harness on the cable and flowed over the canyon. Great adrenaline kick!! 6 of this cable we had to survive the last ones I already enjoyed. In the afternoon we walked along a river to Aguascalientes. On this way we saw Machu Picchu first time from the backside.
On the next day we got up at 4:30am because we wanted to be at MP before all other tourists. We arrived there at 6 and made first a round there with a guide, afterwards we had the whole day to discover alone the area. As an additional side trip I went up to Wayna Picchu Mountain where was a great view to the old Inka city. At three we walked back to Aguascalientes from where we took back the train to Cusco.
